SPECIAL ARMED
FORCE
The Special Armed Force started functioning w.e.f. 1/7/1993 as a unit
of Tripura Police with it’s HQs at A.D.Nagar Police Campus.. The SAF has been
maintaining the five outlaying camps, 42 residential/static guards and providing 60 SAF
personnel for escort duties on daily basis. The SAF personnel have been successfully doing
their job in escorting the VIPs, guarding residence/ important institutions and
maintaining interior camps.
MOTTO
The motto of SAF personnel is to save the properties of people in their
areas of responsibility unto their last breath. The SAF have been carrying out our duties
and responsibilities with utmost sincerity and are able to withhold any threat to security
of people in the areas of responsibility. So, the people living in the area of
responsibility are free from any anxiety about their security and to contribute their time
in their individual field of activity which in turn help them to be self sufficient.

MARTYRS
HC Swapan Majumder, Const. Haripada Roy, Const. Nishi Ranjan Dutta,
Const. Dinesh Ch.Biswas lost their lives in an ambush by the extremists at Baramaura on
16/09/1994 while escorting ONGC officials.
Const. Ratan Saha also lost his life in an extremists attack at
Lembucherra 29/11/1995 while escorting the ICAR officials.
SAF personnel have been maintaining the best liaison with the people in
their areas of responsibility and therefore create a sense mutual belongingness for each
other.
