BLOCK SYLLABUS FOR THE TRAINING OF T.S.R. PERSONNEL.

Every person appointed a member of the rifle shall have to undergo various training and courses to develop his knowledge and skill in drill, weapons, tactics. & physical fitness to enable him fit in the T.S.R. service.

Each member of the Rifles must successfully complete and qualify himself in the Basic Training which consists of the following subjects.

(1) Recruit Basic Training:-

Duration = 36 weeks | Period = 1680 Periods.

  1. PT (FPET/PPET and UAC
  2. Drill.
  3. Weapon Training.
  4. Field Craft and Tactical.
  5. Riot Drill.
  6. Field Engineering.
  7. T.S.R. act & Rules.
  8. C.I. Ops.
  9. First Aids.
  10. Jungle Training.
  11. General Administration.
  12. Civil Defence.
  13. Map Reading.
  14. Education Classes.
  15. Musketry.
  16. Out door Exercise.
  17. Human Rights.

(2) Recruit Enrolled Follower :-

Duration =12 weeks | Period = Periods

Subjects

Method of Training :-

(Lecture/Demo/Practical/Day & Night.

  1. Physical Training.
  2. Drill.
  3. Weapon Training.
  4. Trade.

Each recruit training shall have to pass in all subject securing at least 50% marks in physical Training and 40% in other subjects.

(3) Training of Direct entry Havildars and Nb/Subedars:-

Subject

1. During-24 weeks.

2. Preparetion-1 week (Extra)

3. Period allotted –1296 Periods.

  17. Personality Development.
  18. Human Rights.
  19. Service and Social etiquette.

Note:- Basic Training of Direct Entry Hav. & Nb/Sub have been imparted in the state since 2000 at T.S.R. Training. Centre 1st and 2nd Bn. HQrs.

(4) Refresher/Collective Training:- 

As constant and continuous training is a must for any armed forces to remain fit, person after serving in the field for a stipulated period are given refresher training at each Bn HQ for a period of 4 weeks.

Note:- one must have to pass in ARCF and PT(FPET) in order to get his annual increment released.

(5) Re-mastered from E/F to Rfn Training:-  

Person enrolled as E/F may be eligible for re-master/promotion to Rfn, after one year satisfactory service in the Rifles subject to the availability of vacancy and fulfillment of other conditions as may be prescribed by the Inspector General;

1. Duration-24 weeks.

2. Total Period –1104 Periods.

  14. Map Reading.
  15. Human Rights.
  16. Musketry and Firing.

(6) Cadre approved list-A-B-C-D and E.

Cadre Courses are imparted to in service personnel for promotion purposes. This course is designed for 6 (six) weeks duration and total –288 Periods are allotted to cover the following subject for list A, B and C. 366 Periods for list D & E:-

  5. Field Engineering.
  6. Map Reading.
  7. Radio Telephonic Procedure.
  8. T.S.R. Act & Rules.
  9. C.I. Ops.
  10. Human Rights.
  11. Firing.
  12. Law and Order duty.
  13. I.S.. Duty.
  14. Organisation and Admn.

Each individual should secure at least 40% Marks in each subject and 45% marks in aggregate. List ‘A’ Cadre is meant for departmental promotion from Rfn to L/Nk. List ‘B’ for L/Nk to Nk, List ‘C’ for Nk to Hav. List ‘D’ from Hav to Nb/Sub and List ‘E’ from Nb/Sub to Sub.

(7) Besides the above mentioned training each Bn organises Education class- for 1st Class, 2nd Class and 3rd Class education, which is equivalent to Madhyamik, Ninth std. and Eight std. examination respectively. In addition to the above, T.S.R. personnel are also detailed for training out side the state for:-

    1. CIJW Training.
    2. NSG/Commando Training.
    3. UAC Course.
    4. P.T./Drill Course.
    5. W & T Course.
    6. Armour Work Shop Course.
    7. R.T Course etc.
