CITIZENS CHARTER

 

CITIZEN CHARTER OF DUTY TOWARDS POLICE

 

1. It is the duty of every citizen of India to the police, if they have witnessed or they have information about the following offences made punishable under the Law as envisaged in the Article 51-A of the constitution of India:-

          ☞ Offences against the State.

            ☞ Offences against the public tranquility.

            ☞ Offences relating to adulteration of food and drugs etc.

            ☞ Offences affection life.

            ☞ Offences relating to kidnapping for ransom.

            ☞ Offences of theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to the committing of the theft.

            ☞ Offences of robbery and dacoity.

☞ Offences relating to Criminal Breach of Trust by Public servant.

            ☞ Offences of Mischief against property.

            ☞ Offences of house or lurking house trespass as specified in Sections 449 and 450 Indian Penal Code.

            ☞ Offences relating to currency notes and bank notes.

 

 

 

2. Besides the above, it also the duty of the citizens to Co-operate with the Police in investigation of the case at the time of conducting search and preparing seizure list, or Inquest proceedings in the interest of furthering criminal justice.

            ☞ To assist local police in all possible manner for prevention and detection of crime and also maintenance of Law an Order.

            ☞ To inform the local police about the person/ persons living in the area without any know means of livelihood but leading a lavish life and also about the person/ persons suspected to be involved in any type of nefarious activity.

            ☞ To inform the local police about any suspicious activities/ objects which may affect safety and security.

            ☞ Share information with police on Eve teasers, Drug addicts, Ols unattended people, Unattended insane and injured persons so that police men can intervene as per Police Act.

            ☞ To assist Police in taking anti-liquor measures as sought/ suggested by police.

            ☞ To follow various security measures advised by local police to prevent Cyber, Chit fund frauds and so on.

            ☞ To follow Traffic rules and co-operate with the traffic police for smooth mobility and promptly inform police whenever there is traffic jam for avoiding inconvenience to others.

            ☞ Share information to prevent sale and distribution of drugs or abuse of psychotropic substances especially by youths.

     ☞ Inform police regarding activities which could potentially lead to disaster like of hazardous and explosive substances etc.

            ☞ Co-operate with police in detention of Missing children, Human Trafficking etc. and also update police about social menace like Crime Against Women occurring in the locality through, “PRAYAAS” Committee.

            ☞ Share information regarding illegal infiltration of foreigners along Indo-Bangldesh border and their illegal stay.

     ☞ Attemt to acquire knowledge about police functions as well as Police Act. 2007.
